This is an age-old debate. Who won. We all know that Mr. Lucas has said that Boba Fett died during this battle. But many don't want to believe it. Well let's get some hard facts and tell me what you think. His Mandalorian armor has all kinds of gadgets to keep him alive. In order for him to have survived. This is who he could of done it. 1.Survive by being buried in about 12 feet of sand before falling into the throat of the Sarlacc 2. His armor was said to have protected. He fell 24 feet through tranquilizing poisions. His legs were exposed except for his knees 3. Than once inside one of the stomachs. He would have to of cut through about 10 feet of the side of the Sarlacc to get out. 4. Once out. He would of had to crawl through about 100 feet of sand just to reach to top. 5. He than would have still run the risk of the Sarlacc re-capturing him because of being to weak to put up a fight.

Have you read A Barve Like That and Payback? Some of the earliest SW stories I ever read after getting to know the films. It's all pretty much "explained" in there.

No. Haven't read it. Just went by the cutaway view of the Sarlacc from "SW: The complete visual dictionary." It shows the path he took and where he escaped from. Will read it and see if they match-up. In the Marvel series. The Sarlacc spit him out. In the series "Bounty Hunter Wars. He told Dengar that it swallowed him and that he blew it up. From where he escaped from. Hard to believe he blew it up without killing himself and getting buried even deeper in the sand.

I do have the story 'A Barve Like Me". Went over it. They don't match-up of course.
A Barve Like Me said that he was stored in a tunnel SW The Complete Visual Dictionary has him being stored in a round stomach where he escaped through the side out into the sand. He never could of ignited his jet-pack and fell downward according to the cutaway. And he was never at the bottom of the Sarlacc. His escape routes are totally different.

nothing ever matches up when there are so many versions of a story... like one author would have to read what another already wrote, and accept it, and work their own ideas around it and make them fit in... they don't do that. it's against their pride or something I guess
am I making any sense here?

Oh yeah. You have 4 different versions 1. Lucas said he died 2. Marvel Comics have him being spit out of the Sarlacc 3. "A Barve Like Me" has him blasting his way out and than crawling all the way to the surface 4. SW Complete Visual Dictionary has him cutting thru the side of the stomach and crawling his way up threw the sand to the surface.
It all depends on what you want to believe.

Actually, Lucas has flip-flopped again, stating that he "always intended" to place a scene of Fett crawling out of the Sarlaac as Luke and Co. departed Tatooine.
But I prefer the version of the Bounty Hunter Wars trilogy. Fett annihilated the Sarlaac, which makes sense because of the amount of ammo he carried, then crawled out. The majority of books supports this story, so that's what I'm going with. The Visual Dictionaries, to me, are lame. The novels are far more entertaining, and have more of a Star Wars feel. The Visual Dictionary just tries to be like Star Trek.

That would be cool if he did something like that. Put an end to the discussion. With Lucas. It's hard to tell what he's thinking. Just read an old interview he did with Starlog. He said that Luke would be 3 / 3.5 years old by the time ROTS was filmed. We see how that turned out.

I remember reading where George had Boba killed off but when money is involved I'm sure he holds the right to change his story.
I just figured that the sarlacc was killed during the explosion and didnt have enough time to fully eat Fett.
Clone......... it's whats for dinner.

I was able to talk with Mr. Sansweet at DC. I asked him the age-old question. All he said was "yes" and "no".
Lucas had killed him at the Sarlacc. Which is why in the SE he had the Sarlacc "burp" after Fett fell in.
But he lives on in the EU. And as far as he knows. No plans to bring him back in another re-release.
